Investing for Millennials and what's affecting the sharemarket

In this months newsletter we feature Bob Cunneen, Senior Economist and Portfolio specialist at MLC, who provides an update on the markets and some views on the impact of political instability on the sharemarket.

Trumps bold promise of corporate tax cuts and higher infrastructure spending continue to support the US sharemanrket and despite what is going on in the world, European sharemarkets also made solid ground in May.

"Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedies." Groucho Marx.

During these turbulent times we continue to stress the importance of good diversification, asset allocation and quality.

We also feature an article emphasising the benefits of dollar cost averaging and the value of compound interest for Millennials. Given housing prices and the cost of goods and services, starting early with a disciplined approach to investing is paramount. So many times over the years we have heard, " I wish I started earlier."

As always, if you have any questions and would like to discuss any of the above please give me a call.

Regards,

Charmaine
